Victor Moses: I won’t force myself to play for Nigeria

Chelsea star Victor Moses has dismissed suggestions he picks and chooses the games he plays for Nigeria, insisting he always wants to be fit before appearing for his country, AFP reports.

Moses, 26, made his Nigeria debut in 2012 when he changed his international allegiance after representing England at various age-grade levels.

LASG Director Commits Suicide

A director in the Lagos State Ministry of Youths, Mr. Oludare Buraimoh, has allegedly committed suicide.

Buraimoh, who lived on Unity Estate, Phase II, Gbonagun, Abeokuta, Ogun State, was reportedly found dead in his room at about 4pm on Monday shortly after attending to his son, Dotun, who was ill.

President Buhari to Demand Repatriation of Looted Funds at UN Assembly

President Muhammadu Buhari will demand the repatriation of looted public funds to countries of origin, including Nigeria at the forthcoming 72nd United Nations General Assembly, holding in New York, the Foreign Affairs minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, said on Tuesday in Abuja.

He explained that the President  would lead a large delegation to the assembly which would hold between September 12 and 25, 2017.

Lawyers Disagree On soldiers’ Deployment in Abia State

Two human rights lawyers – Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa and Jiti Ogunye – have disagreed on whether it was right to deploy soldiers around the home of Independent Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu.

There was a shooting on Sunday near Kanu’s residence, which led to a clash with IPOB members, culminating in the state government imposing a curfew.

Abia State Governor imposes curfew in Abia after soldiers/IPOB clash

A THREE-DAY curfew has been imposed on Umuahia and Aba as the government of Abia State battles to stem a major security problem.

There has been a clash between soldiers and members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) in the state, prompting Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to take the action.

Buhari Has Not Disappointed Me - Obasanjo

Former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo has said the administration of the country’s current leader Muhammadu Buhari has not disappointed him.

NEWS: Fire forces hundreds to evacuate in Los Angeles

A massive fire described as the biggest in the history of Los Angeles was raging Saturday, forcing hundreds of people to evacuate their homes.

Mayor Eric Garcetti told reporters the blaze, which broke out Friday and lit up the hills surrounding the northern suburb of Burbank overnight, had already burnt 5,000 acres (2,000 hectares), adding: “In terms of acres involved this is probably the largest fire in L.A. city history.”

BUHARI: Nigerians can live in any part of the country

President Muhammadu Buhari again on Saturday said Nigerians have the constitutional right to live, work and raise their families in any part of the country without restrictions.

According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President spoke while receiving the Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Masari, at his country home in Daura, Katsina State as part of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
