Minimum wage: We are on same page with civil servants ― Seyi Makinde


Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, said on Saturday that his government was on the same page with civil servants on the new N30,000 minimum wage for workers.
The Governor, who noted that his administration had only on Friday set up a committee to oversee the negotiation and implementation of the new minimum wage, stated that civil servants and the government were going to be reasonable on the all-important matter.

Ohakim Promises to Fix Imo State Economy In 6 Months

A former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, has promised to revive the economy of the state if he wins the March 2 governorship election in the state.
Ohakim, who is the Accord Party’s governorship candidate, said the state  needed an experienced person like him to pull its economy out of the woods.

INEC - There Will Be Manual Transmission of Results in 2019 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) National Commissioner in charge of Operations, Okechukwu Evans, yesterday announced that in line with the existing electoral act 2010 (as amended), there would be manual transmission of results in this year’s elections.

JAMB - Candidates with Biometric Problems to Write Exams in Abuja.

THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stated that any candidate with biometric challenge will now have to come to its Headquarters in Abuja to resolve the issue as well as write the examination.
JAMB stated that it took the decision after it discovered that many candidates use issues of biometrics to concoct a reason to cheat.

Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, the presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) says he would defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Feb. 16 presidential poll.
Moghalu, at a town hall meeting tagged ‘The Candidates’ organised by the MacArthur Foundation in collaboration with NTA and DARIA media in Abuja, expressed confidence that he would emerge president.

Professor Peter Okebukola has said that the dividend of the ASUU strike will be huge in the universities. Okebukola who disclosed this while speaking on the issues that would posibly shape the sector in 2019 said: ‘’The dividend of the ASUU strike will be huge injection of more funds into our universities.’’

Gov. Wike - INEC Can’t be Trusted on Credible Polls IN 2019.

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said the Independent National Electoral Commission cannot be trusted to conduct credible polls in 2019 because of its inconsistent actions.
Wike cautioned that though Rivers people were peace-loving, they would resist any attempt to rig the 2019 elections in the state.
