Ohakim Promises to Fix Imo State Economy In 6 Months

A former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, has promised to revive the economy of the state if he wins the March 2 governorship election in the state.
Ohakim, who is the Accord Party’s governorship candidate, said the state  needed an experienced person like him to pull its economy out of the woods.

The candidate spoke in Owerri, the state capital on Wednesday. He said he had the capacity to make “Imo economy walk within six months.” Ohakim said, “I believe in good governance and equity that will create 600,000 jobs, bring back the 10,000 jobs scheme, revive the industrial layouts and the seaport in Osemotor /Oseokwa which has since been given admiralty number.
“I will also bring back the Clean and Green Initiative which made Owerri the cleanest city in Nigeria for three consecutive times and also bring back the Imo Roads Maintenance Agency.”
He said if he had been allowed to complete the laudable programmes he planned for his first term, 70% of the people of the state who are abroad would have returned home to establish business.”
