NEWS:Governor Dave Umahi Emerges Chairman of South-East Governors’ Forum.

Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State has been elected Chairman of South-East Governors’ Forum, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
Mr. Umahi was unanimously endorsed at a meeting of the forum attended by all the governors from the zone in Enugu on Sunday.

Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says the 2017/2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will hold in May. Oloyede, who was speaking at the 2017 Nigerian Academy of Letters Annual Lecture on Thursday in Abuja, said there was delay in the sales of the forms due to some logistics.

Audu Maikori, a Nigerian lawyer and CEO of Chocolate City Entertainment, has been arrested by the police. The arrest is linked to his tweets about a fatal attack on his relatives in Southern Kaduna that turned out to be false, his lawyer said Friday.

The naira continued on its four-day winning streak against the U.S. dollar on the parallel market yesterday to close at N480/$, stronger than the N501 to the dollar from the previous day, as the new foreign exchange policy actions introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) forced more currency speculators to sell off the greenback as sell rates fell as low as N460/$.

The clinic declined to treat the unconscious Emmanuel Olalekan, who was a 300-level Chemistry Education student of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT MINNA) in Niger State, insisting on his “proper identification” first.

NEWS:Nigerian Breweries Records 27.3% Drop in Profit.

Nigerian Breweries Plc has reported a 27.3 per cent fall in its profit before tax for the 2016 financial year.
Its 2016 group profit before tax tumbled to N39.62bn from N54.51bn recorded a year ago.
