 The Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, on Thursday met some labour leaders at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to resolve the issues that led to the ongoing warning strike by workers.

The United States Institute for Peace and the International Republican Institute have said Lagos, Rivers, Anambra, Adamawa, Ekiti, Plateau, Kano and Kaduna, may erupt in electoral violence during the 2019 elections.

Gas tanker explosion kills at least 35 in Nasarawa.

At least 35 people were killed on Monday and hundreds injured when a gas tanker exploded in northern Nigerian state of Nasarawa and started a blaze, the state emergency agency said.

Local media reported at least one killed in Kisumu in the west of the country, while police in Nairobi and the second city of Mombasa fought running battles with small groups of protesters.There was no immediate police confirmation of the reported death.
